Minnesota supports large numbers of mosquitos. There are attempts at control of these pests but I personally am skeptical of the impact. Our farm was virtually skeet free around the house due to the large mowed lawn and the 30 acres of cattle pasture surrounding the house, the colony of barn swallows, the huge numbers of bats and the distance between us and standing water. We also kept a few minnows in the stock tank to eat the larvae. The place I live at now is loaded with the critters so bad you can hear them warming their engines up at dusk.
