After 15 tries by freeztar, 24 by all players, freeztar has won the first hypography Newtonian Bowling competition! Here’s a summary of the competion:
0. (example, doesn’t count): ball mass 3, x=1.5, (h,v)=(.87,1) -> 2 left: 4, 10

24. freeztar: ball mass 1.83, x=8.5, v=(-1.257,3) -> 0 left

If people want to keep playing, feel free - I’m going to bed now, though…

Ideas for a next XELCOL4 competition include:
  1. Adding pins
  2. Reducing the diameters of the pins and/or ball
  3. Adding random inaccuracies to the player’s input, running say 100 simulations, and counting the number of strikes. Player with the most strikes for a single input wins.
  4. A pool simulation (still need to make some enhancements to the code to support this)
Votes and suggestions for a next competition are invited.

Hypography?

Hypography [n.]: A combination of "hyperlink" and "bibliography" - ie, a list of links to electronic documents. Comparable to discography and bibliography, but not cartography.
