I think the argument (theory?) goes like this: global warming will cause larger & longer storms which in Winter results in snowfalls that don't melt over the following Summer, more is added the next Winter, albedo increases and Earth cools. Good luck finding a link.
PS The thermo-haline conveyor stopping is mostly about cooling Europe, which is kept warm by the Gulf Stream.
