Lightspeed Internet Block

My school has Lightspeed System.
This is an advanced security system that blocks many, many "non school appropriate websites" (just in case you didn't know)

I have some computer knowhow and I've looked through settings and studied up a bit on Lightspeed but I'm still unable to get past this block (without using a proxy).

Many of the things I try to do to get past Lightspeed require Administrator Passwords on the computer, which no one except for one teacher has.

However, I bring my personal laptop to school on a regular basis and hook myself up to the Internet.
using my own administrator account and access to settings, is there a way i could alter my personal lap top settings to void the block or is it through the district network which I am unable to access or alter anything?

(Note* I am NOT trying to "hack" the school.... Proxies carry virusus and SpyWare and I hate using them... However I find it inconvient when certain websites are blocks [I am *not* referring to MySpace])

If anyone could help me, that'd be great.
