It's not out of line. It is interesting to think about such things, but without a way to test for "purpose", it is outside the realm of science.

Hypography?

Hypography [n.]: A combination of "hyperlink" and "bibliography" - ie, a list of links to electronic documents. Comparable to discography and bibliography, but not cartography.
