___I think actually the question of whether the universe will continue to expand or not does consider the implosion idea. As in, will the expansion stop, reverse, & result in a Big Crunch (which of course preciptates a singularity precipitates anothe Big Bang, ...) At the scale of a singularity there is no in or out, no to or fro, ...just singularity.
___Of course, recent studies from astronomy indicate that not only is the expansion not slowing, it's speeding up.
