Babbler, first of all there are games a lot like civ available for linux, second of all, civ was a decent game, but there are better strategy games out there than civ, thirdly Linux is a superior platform for anything, it is the game producers fault not to utilize it and lastly civ probably runs in cedega, and if not you can always just run it in WINE, in fact I'm almost 100% positive that it will, and be careful when you say "true gaming platform" the ignorance of game developers has nothing to do with the platform, and OpenGL is superior to DirectX in many ways, speed being the biggest one...
