actually it does not, because vista writes different headers with ntfs then xp, sometimes security descriptors wont allow Xp to open those files up. Besides NTFS write is still considered to be experimental in Linux... better safe then sorry, FAT, unfortunately, still the only "Safe" choice... though i say that with LOTS of irony...
