Algorithms eventually stop. The following is not an algorithm:
1. Wait for person to walk by
2. Smile at person
3. Go back to step 1
This sequence does not end.
1. Wait for person to walk by
2. Smile at person
3. Go back to step 1 if not friend
4. Talk to friend
This sequence can stop.
