Ok, first I would like to say it sounds like it could be the basis of a good scifi story but reality dictates these huge ifs.
If time travel is possible
If a machine could be built that could operate inside the parameters that existed in the first few years of the universe. Remember there is nothing or anywhere outside the universe for the machine to exist in.
If the big bang theory is a reasonable description of reality
If the parameters of the universe could be changed or even need to be changed
Then there is the problem of the future changing the past to create the future.
