I did timing tests on my code and there's no comparison with times TM has posted for the same things. I'll have a look at those links, though I haven't been dedicating much time to cryptography.
My Rational class raises to exponents easily. It is trivial, in prime factor representation. Raising rational values to non-integer exponents may give irrational values but I was thinking of an idea about that. For the moment my class only does integer exponents, positive and negative.
