I have to also say, that the principle of synergy (or emergence) seems absent, if not contrary to the very idea of prediction DoctorDick is seeking. In my intuitive generalist view, the Universe IS the simplest expression of itself; we simply do not apprehend most of what is going on with our limited senses.
