I'll quibble with Turtle's conclusion though: If you look at the graph, although there's a local minimum at 1908-9, the 5-year moving average seemed to start at 1900, which predated the event. Who knows what method they used to compute the 5 year average (it could be the 5 years around the event, which means that specific events effects would be hidden, or 5-years back (which is what most, but not all, computations use). Back to the history timelines...
Someone might want to check the 11-year sunspot cycle which is normally highly correllated with such data...
