RE: New forum software upcoming

I would have no problem with setting my new account up for the new forums. It would be a good chance to mod anything.

I think, once the new forums are operational, that we lock the old ones with a last post for any thread that has a post within perhaps the last month. Then have a link to the replacement thread on the new forums. And conversely a link back as the first post in the new forum for historical review.

After a short time (couple months max?) it really won't matter. But some continuity is of value.

Not knowing specifics, perhaps scripts could be written in the old forums that automatically steear users to the new forums when an old button is clicked?

And my post count only needs to be maintained if it happens before I get to 2000. Free T (shirt that is). Then let me look like a newbie, for a while.
