First off things that I can use or think might be remotely useful eventually (and that sweetie dsesn't force me to throw out!!!) never make it to the trash (car, motor bike, bicycle and mower parts, electronics, hoses and tubing, metal scraps etc. stay.)
Dead vehicles stripped of all their goodies (any thing I think is or could be even remotely usefull) get hualed off to be recycled.
Cans, bottles go to a buddy of mine that turns them in to be recycled for cash.
Useable clothes, books movies and music go to the local thrift store.

DFINITLYDISTRUBD I am with your sweetie on this. Due to my ex being a pack rat, my own personal best was a 74 dodge van which topped out a 9 tons after I got done packing it, after we parted ways. That s.o.b. had TRAIN PARTS!! Do you have any idea how heavy train parts are!! I couldnt believe the garbage he kept. anyways...
The man who came to get it stressed his own flat bed loading it. When he unloaded it at the junkyard with his loader, the van bent around his forks and I was forbidden to pack vans that tight again.
