This is mostly a maintenance and bugfix release, but it is also a move for us from the latest Release Candidate to the current Stable version. Hopefully the bugs we have experienced lately have been ironed out.
After the upgrade some design issues have been found (mostly due to minor code changes) and this will take some time to fix.
We have also added a new feature to our forums where we can control at what level users gain access to benefits - like posting links in posts, access to special forums, post images etc. Users now need 10 posts to be able to post links. Hopefully this will help us get rid of the recent spam pest problem...

Please don't take this the wrong way...but...Wouldn't it better help to prevent spamming if you were to keep this little tidbit hidden amongst yourselves (Admins. and Mods.)

Astronomical instruments needed to answer crucial questions, such as the search for Earth-like planets or the way the Universe expands, have come a step closer with the first demonstration at the telescope of a new calibration system for precise spectrographs. The method uses a Nobel Prize-winning technology called a 'laser frequency comb', and is published in this week's issue of Science. Read » | 0 comments
Stanford computer scientists have developed an artificial intelligence system that enables robotic helicopters to teach themselves to fly difficult stunts by watching other helicopters perform the same maneuvers. The result is an autonomous helicopter than can perform a complete airshow of complex tricks on its own. Read » | 0 comments
