The "topic of the week" nomination feature was bugged in that it did not create a new poll when a new week started. I have installed a fix, so that it now correctly creates a new poll when a new week starts.

It would be nice if you guys could nominate some (worthy) threads here and there to get this started.

Re: Topic of the Week

Is it possible to display the range of days instead of the week number?

For instance, instead of "Topic Of The Week 36, September, 2008", it could say "Topic of the Week 25/8-31/8". (or preferably 8/25-8/31)

Re: Topic of the Week

It probably is but I have not found out how. I'll put it on the To Do-list.

I frankly don't understand why the developer chose that format (who the heck remembers weekly numbers these days...).

Payroll managers and staff in companies with weekly and biweekly pay cycles. Decades ago, I supported the computer system for a payroll deparment, and picked up the mindset.

Also, people who still use paper calendars (the serious kind with lots of numbers on them), or who have software calendars that show week numbers on a commonly used view - and notice the feature (I just realized Palm desktop has them, and I've used it for over a decade!).

Still, it's a pretty goofy convention, and I hope you find a switch to make it more sensible.

Topic of the week is a cool hack
