| Lately there have been a lot of threads and discussions about experimentation with drugs for obviously non-scientific reasons. The admins and moderators, and several concerned users, are taking steps to stop this trend. First of all, we will be adding a clause to our rules: | ||

| Re: Crackdown on drugs at Hypography I think TFS has a good point. Maybe threads/posts straying off Hypography rules could be moved to Postmagnet rather than deleted. A violation of the rules could be a post that inspires a good counter point. I have posted in other forums regarding a particular drugs use and while it did not convince the pro drug poster to stop using that particular drug several other posters announced after reading my response/links they would never themselves try that particular drug. I felt like I had done something good even though it didnt impact the person the post was directed towards. |

My understanding is that the second post wouldn't be banned - but I'm not sure that the new rule is clear in distinction. 'sall I'm sayin'. TFS

Jay seems to be willing to let it go as long as it doesn't devolve into "Dude, I am sooo high right now." While Dave thinks it's already a problem. What about if it were "What's the problem with anyone smoking weed?" That is, if it were an argument about legalization? Is the position that drugs should be legal no longer acceptable? Is this conversation legal, as I am basically promoting opinions that promote drug use? (Or at least saying they shouldn't be anathema.) Addendum: That came off as a lot more smart-ass than I meant it to. The real question is "Does the policy as worded prevent drug talk while not prevent drug discussion?" We're in agreement as to what SHOULD happen - you shouldn't be able to post about your trip, or tell people everything would be better if they just got high, or anything like that, but you also shouldn't be banned (or warned, or disciplined) if you could make a cogent argument for drug legalization. | Re: Crackdown on drugs at Hypography Sorry - I took dave to mean it was not okay - and that the "notice" would be the kind of "notice" you don't want. It's not like I have much say in the matter Quote:
I don't think the moderators are stupid or inconsistent. Sorry if I implied that. I'll go away now. TFS
