Question Benedict's Solution

why does Benedict's solution change colour when reacted with glucose?
(Chemical explanation please)
Why is it boiled?

The copper ions in solution reduced, forming (I believe) Cu2O which changes the color.
It is boiled in order to facilitate the reaction.
