Re: Brain Wiring Redux

Suppose your every thought is pre-determined from the beginning of time, and we discovered a technology for determining or predicting what those thoughts are going to be.

What would be the wisdom of ever allowing that technology to be used?

You've just implicitly conceded that you are not able to address the questions posed to you nor support your assertions.

Since the OP has agreed the thread should be closed, I see no valid reason not to respect the request.

I would NEVER condone closing a thread due to a 'vote'.
I would condone closing a thread due to the OP not describing their position, much less supporting it.

Since everyone now seems to agree, I’ve closed the thread.

The subject of the connections between genetics, neuroanatomy, and behavior is, I think, a profound one, worthy of discussion. My advice is for future such discussion to occur in the Medical Science forum, and be strongly rooted in the hard science of neurology – the research and self-education required is greater, IMHO, than the more free-form kicking around of ideas we’ve seen lately on the subject.
