RE: Evolution is Junk Science and Secular Religion

There is more than just the >95% DNA-sequence similarity between chimps and humans that shows we shared a common ancestor, there is also structural chromosomla evidence. There is a difference in chromosome count of 2 (1 pair difference) and this is quite nicely explained by there having been a fusion of two chromosomes sometime in the past. Just a fabrication to cover the difference? Nope. Chromosmoal banding patterns demonstrate that just such an event actually did take place.

RE: Evolution is Junk Science and Secular Religion

Telemad, it really doesn't matter how much evidence there is to prove Evoution, even though it is extremely massive at this point.

It is not enough, it will never be enough. We could discover two entire continual, contiguous family lines of fossils from some far past common primate ancestry to both a living human family and some apes in Africa. Each fully labled with names and dates. And the Creationists would ask where the 2nd cousin to Ugh in 10,000 BC is. Otherwise we still have not proven an Evolutionary connection.

RE: Evolution is Junk Science and Secular Religion

I think we need a thread on how to reason with unreasonable people. Stupid people will invariably believe a simple falsehood over the complex but absolute truth. Go figure.

RE: Evolution is Junk Science and Secular Religion

Thread? We need an extensive amount of psychological research to find out why people prefer to be intentionally deluded into accepting things that are harmful to themselves and society in general.

We could start with Christianity. It is the worst problem at this point.

RE: Evolution is Junk Science and Secular Religion

i agree with you that the "old-fashion" type of christianity is harmful to the world.
but the newly "evolved" christianity is a helpful accessory to this world.

and if christianity is "the worst problem", i would say "money" is even worse (see how many stealing there are, and how many ppl die b/c of it).

RE: Evolution is Junk Science and Secular Religion

almost all the christianitians ive seen are friendly, amicable...

in china, people in a bus wouldnt give seats to old people. but a christian will. (well, i will too)
a christian is not like a war-like guy, they do not fight all the time.

i would feel better to have a god rely on, when i do something wrong, god will forgive me, when i fail something, god is with me.

no much people read the whole bible and remember the whole book like crazy.
people just got the idea of christianity, like love your enemy, helping others, forgive....so on,
christianity is like for a better personality.

Evolution is Junk Science and Secular Religion

if your talking about a christian going to fight for their "god",

it is the old christian.

the new one is based on the society, it is simply something to rely on.
dont tell me that in this 21 century, wars are all over and people are fighting for their "gods" all around the world, at least, not in this united states.

and, if you think christianity is this bad, tell the government and say it is evil.... see if the gov't is gonna ban it.

i believe the gov't has a right to stop something harmful to the society, right?
just like the whatever evil religion that tells people to suicide in japan is able to be banned by the gov't...

Are they trying to recruit you? I'll admit that at the community level some religious people and organizations can be friendly and even altruistic. There is usually an ulterior motive. Don't forget the Mafia's credo-"keep your friends close,....your enemies closer".

It takes time to build an army.

A crutch. A weak one at that. We are all responsible for our own actions. Success' and failures. If you get to blame god for your mistakes you must also give him credit for your success'. Why even bother to live?

Your personality should reflect who you are, not what someone tells you to be.
