We have discussed how humans may incorporate the digital realm directly into their bodies to evolve new mental and physical abilities, an expansion of mental dimensions.
We may send our scalpals and eyes directly into the DNA that masterminds the shape of our progeny and take the reins of evolution into our untrustworthy hands.
And then... there are the creatures lurking in our brains. The Memes. (Read the final chapter of Richard Dawkins, "
The Selfish Gene") The systems of inter-dependent concepts and beliefs that compete and even war against each other for the territory of our mind-states. These Memes strive to spread themselves from mind to mind. They strive to reduce the survivability of those minds that reject them. The Ugly Thoughts that wear black hats trying to drive out the Holy Thoughts that wear white hats. Science against creationism. Allah against Jehovah. Conservative fury against liberal outrage.
Memes evolve, too. "There is someone in my head, but it's not me!"
