i am still not sold on this idea, purely becuase it depicts evolution as something that "has to happen", as opposed to something that just happens. doesnt sound right to me, and it feels like it borders dangerously on the intelligent design debate. however, in your own defense i am reading a book that describes how one can shape his/her own neural pathways using purely mental force. this may progress humans a great deal, especially since we became aware of human evolution quite a while ago, and yet nobody seems interested in progressing mankind (in an evolutionary sense, not as in technology) besides you guys.

another problem i see with these hypothisies is the statement that this could "occur in our lifetime". this is highly unlikely becuase it took Homo Sapiens Nearly half a million years to develop clear traits that set it apart from homo erectus, and then another bunch of years for homo sapien-sapien to do the same. our species (homo sapien-sapien)hasent nearly progressed enough to consider us biologially or consiously diferent from any of our relatives since the dawn of modern man. it is going to take more time.

all of this could be totally true, it could also be totally false. it is important to remember that human developing telepathic abilities is just as likely as siamese twins becoming a social norm. it is also important to remember that everything in movies, even scientific ones, isnt nessesarily true .

waking life was the movie i found that summed almost all my believes... i was like "so i'm not the only one who thinks this?!"...it's true that we're gonna depend more and more on the technology but it's not necessarily true that we'll bind with it[chip implants..Zeitgeist style]... maybe technology will just make us see the true potential within our higher self and thus discovering the unlimited potential of the human brain... well who knows... maybe i'm being to much influenced by the latest media i've watched/read... for example The Celestine Prophecy movie or Robert Anthony's - Beyond Positive Thinking book... could be

I believe that this self-manifesting rapid evolution of the human is already occurring, constantly, even as you read this.
Think about it, self awareness and the belief in this concept evolves every learning mind.
Once you affirm the realization that you are a constantly evolving solipsistic mind, one can not help but evolve at a rapid pace.
Through learning and investigating the infinite possibilities of perception we are already at this point, do you not hear the crescendo?
If anyone disagrees with this belief I would like to know one thing from you...
