Re: i really need some help, please.

Google
"congenital cataracts" 89,100 hits
and
Investigative Ophthalmology and Visual Science 45 2182 (2004)

Most cataracts are the result of ageing, other pathologies (diabetes), steroid or radiation exposure. Six month's liviing in International Space Station Freedom FUBAR Space Hole One Alpha (especially during solar storms) will cook your lenses to a pretty. Earth's atmosphere at sea level has a radiation shielding capacity of nearly a meter thickness of lead.

Re: i really need some help, please.

well, that doesn't really help me. I need to find the exact chromosome that is responsible.

i found this: http://www.pnas.org/cgi/content/abstract/101/40/14485 and http://www.pnas.org/cgi/content/full/101/40/14485 but i can't make heads or tails of it.

i need something like this: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/disease/chr1-4.html . That site has great info, however it doesn't tell me anything about cataracts.

Welcome to Hypography dposse!

It is entirly possible that the responsible genome for cataracts has yet to be identified. What are you going to do if that turns out to be the case?
