October (already)

I can not believe that it is October already. That's Q4 for you business types out there.
Autumn (my favourite season) is upon us in a big way here in the UK. We have just had a rainy Sunday here in the south whilst the north of England and Scotland basked in a brilliant (if a little cold) sunny day. I know this because it is the day of the "Great North Run" and the coverage showed clear blue skies throughout the half marathon.
I like Autumn best of the seasons because of the colours that the trees go before they shed their leaves and the way that the weather gets stormy. I love to watch stormy days from the comfort of my living room in front of my warm fire. It can blow all it likes out there - so long as I am warm in here.
The other reason for liking the British Autumn is that it is the run up to Christmas and that always makes for a special feeling (even for me, an atheist).
October is also an exciting time because of what I know is coming in November.
November is the month of NaNo, or National Novel Writing Month. The idea behind this is that you strive to write a 50,000 word novel during the 30 days that make up November. (yes, that's approximately 1700 words a day).
I have my idea for a novel and you are allowed to plan it as much as you like but not a word of it must be consigned to paper until a minute after midnight on October 31st. I'll let you know how I get on.
