Solar oven

Posted 02-08-2009 at 02:37 PM by monkey93xf
This is an 11th grade science project for AP Enviornmental science. I have to build a solar powered oven. This does not mean i have to have solar cells, we can use things such as mirrors, foil, ect. Anything that will be able to heat food. The competition is to see if we can beat the teacher's solar oven. The rules are whoever gets the biggest temp. difference wins. That it. But so far this is my idea:

Round box lined in foil, mirrors angled enough to catch the sun and reflect to the center were a can of some kind of food will be sitting covered in black paint to absorb as much heat as possible. I'm not very concerned about it catching fire. If it does better for me! If anyone has any other ideas PLEASE contribute.
