refreshingly BRIGHT movie...

Ok, so I just watched this totally awesome movie tonight, and I was wondering if any of you have seen it...

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

I can't tell you how brilliant this movie was. I'm actually thinking of doing a movie review. However, in reviews, there is usually something bad said about the movie, and I just can't think of a single bad thing to say about it. If anyone else has seen it, please post your opinions...

I'm posting about the movie on this site because 1) I LOVE you guys; and 2) I know the process presented in the movie is not currently possible, but it brings up some very interesting points about memory, the way our brain works, emotions, and much more that we talk about regularly here.

Basic movie premise is: Jim Carey is in love with Kate Winslet. He's rather boring, she's rather NOT boring. They are together for a while, and their relationship goes south... she goes to a doctor and has him erased from her memory, and when he finds out, he decides to do the same... That's a LOT more than you know when the movie starts, and that's all I'll say for now. But both of the main actors were fabulous. The supporting cast was incredible as well. It's an indie film, so it's about as far from formulaic as you can get... Twists and turns that kept me interested... Made me look at my husband and realize how much a part of my life he actually is, and how difficult it would be to have him taken out of my life... Just an all-around excellent movie... Well worth the time it takes to watch it. Tormod, if you're interested, let me know... I can send it to you, I think you and Yvonne would get a kick out of it...

Yes! I've seen it. Jim Carrey is incredible in that movie. But thanks for the offer.

It's a very good movie on several levels - part comedy, part tragedy, but it also asks some fundamental questions without getting overly presumptuous. Good recommendation, Irish.

Actually, Irish is not spoiling it at all! It's a very strange and surprising movie. See it!

Sorry, Gahd, but that's less than I knewafter reading the box... If you pick it up in the store, it will tell you more than you might want to know... Trust me, stick with my 'spoiler' and just watch it, ok?

Re: refreshingly BRIGHT movie...

It's not really a spoiler anyway. I never saw the movie but knew about the dual "memory swipes" from the previews.

My brother said he hated it, but I think he was wanting a "Pet Detective" style Jim Carey.
