Pools

Based on the chemicals that are put into pools (disinfectants, etc), is pool water more basic or acidic?
...just something I was thinking about.

Re: Pools

Usually basic if you have put disinfectants, but may become acidic due to some chemicals being released into it. (Like piss)

Good question. I worked in & around pools for many years & we tested the water often for chlorine & PH. I forget the numbers, but here's a link & quote from it.

The main problem with maintaining pool chemistry is people not showering before intering the pool...& yes peeing in it. One minute you have a perfectly optimum chemistry, then you get 100 grundimllies & all bets are off.
Oh & we cant wait to get the babies in too!

Re: Pools

I have seen some very high tech pools in which the water is continuously cleaned and treated.

Those are truly high class.
