Re: I propose a chemical....
Darn. Is it then perhaps Dithiothreitol?

Dithiothreitol it is. I hope my clues weren't too vague.

Not at all!
Okay. Next:
I Propose a Chemical.... that is the anhydride of an acid that can be found in sea water, and contains a metalloid from the periodic table.
Begin.

Re: I propose a chemical....
Ok, Im gonna have to break this down a little bit..
You want the anhydride (water once removed) of an acid present in sea water that contains a metalloid (Boron, Silicon, Germanium, Arsenic, Antimony, Tellurium, Polonium)
With the limits you proposed on this thread the final chemical must have at least 3 different elements present, the first is one of these metalloids, the second Im betting on is oxygen, the third.. well hydrogen is normally only present in anhydrides if it is part of an organic molecule, since we need more than 3 elements present I am guessing that H will be one of them, so perhaps this acid is an amino acid or a carbonic acid..
just thinking it out, even if I dont get it it may at least help someone else too

Re: I propose a chemical....
Keep up your thinking Jay. I will tell you this however, it is not of the carbonic or amino variety.

Re: I propose a chemical....
This has been tough, but is it tetramethylarsinous acid anhydride?

Re: I propose a chemical....
No it is not
I'll give at least a small hint if it would help. It only contains 3 different elements, and the total number of atoms in one molecule is 6. It is inorganic.

Re: I propose a chemical....
I have a feeling I was a little too tough. So to prevent this "game" from dying, I'll just post the answer, and let Jay-qu post the next one.
drumroll....... Metasilicic Acid (H2SiO3), which is the anhydride of Orthosilicic acid. tah-dah.
