I do not have a television, so I received all of the information surrounding the homage to Michael by all the other means.

The story has been the front page of both tabloids since his death.

Two of my four daily talk radio programs have contributed considerable amount of time to analysis, criticism of the media coverage, and lack of reference to the eccentric dimention of Jackson.

My analysis of the mis-estimation/expectation of the "outside crowd," and celebrity eulogies tends to lead me to believe that there is something to be learned and what will be in the future.

When Princess Diana died, I thought "thank God, now the magazines and newspapers can report on something else for a change, something newsworthy".

How wrong was I.

Since her death, whole forests have been converted to pulp to keep the story going. The media have been milking her corpse for years in order to sell copy. And the same with Michael Jackson. I predict that we will have a media frenzy over MJ for many, many years to come. And the whole thing will feed on itself, becoming an industry in and of itself.

Myself, I used to make jokes about MJ before his death. And being the irreverent prat that I am, I'm still doing it. At least I'm consistent.

I get a big, fat, royal pain in the ass by those hypocrites who used to call him "Wacko Jacko" when he was alive, and can't stop singing his praises now that he's dead. And there is no more guilty party to that than the very media you talk about. They reveled in his child-molestation cases, now they cannot say a single bad word about him.

Public figures? I couldn't care less. A nutjob's a nutjob. Even in death.

The best about the whole MJ saga is the hilarious MJ joke sites it spawned. It's very, very funny. And I feel no shame in admitting it. Being consistent, I joked about him in life and I see absolutely no reason to quit now?

His craziness and obsession with becoming white really sickened me. But it was prime joke fodder. And all those self-righteous praise singers coming out of the woodwork who never did so when he was alive (same with princess Di) can just as well take a hike. They sicken me too, even more so.

Well, I'll bet Obama said he would not sign the bill into law, so...

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi shut the door Thursday to a resolution honoring Michael Jackson because debate on the symbolic measure could raise "contrary views" about the pop star's life.

So, it turns out that the death of Michael Jackson is Farrah Fawcett's fault. When she died, and went up to heaven, god told her that she could have one wish, and asked her what that was. She thought about it for a moment, and then said to god that she wanted all of the children of the world to be safe. Then, at that very moment, Michael Jackson passed away.







Did you hear that Jackson is going to be cremated? It turns out that once all of the plastic in his body melts, they're going to make toys out of it, and then kids will finally be able to touch and play with him instead of the other way around.

Tuesday night, I saw the replays of the event and I was in shock. They had his gold casket on stage the whole time while Usher was singing. It seemed quite macabre to me.

And then, the late night news had nothing better going, so they aired some footage of the home where MJ grew up as a kid. And yes, tons of people there, decorations and adornments everywhere. The whole time I'm thinking "Who are these people?". I guess that's the feeling most had when Graceland was manifesting.

I love some of MJ's music. It's classic! He was a great dancer, no doubt.
I'm fine with a tribute, but it just seemed so...ridiculous and over-hyped. I agree with Boerseun that it's likely we'll see many books, blogs, tv specials, and even maybe some news "from beyond". Graceland 2.0!

And when single white gloves (with sparkles) come back into fashion in the 2030's, guess who's gonna be their coverboy?

Don't blame hangers on for Michael Jackson's bizarre behaviour - it was just part of his natural make up and all they did was exaggerate it. As for the funeral/ memorial service, this speaks for itself.

Some people have attacked him for being a hypochondriac, meaning that there was nothing wrong with him but they fail to realize that he was hypersensitive, which would have meant that he was painfully aware of minute afflictions (The Princess and the Pea/ hangover) that the more zombiefied members of a our society wouldn't have even noticed in themselves, let alone others (slowed down by natural opiates, unlike him, speeded up by stimulants - high on himself i.e. low appetite, insomniac, ungrounded (skinny not fat), hyperactive).

When he was resting, all the aches and pains would have become apparent to him - where in action, they would have been dissipated as bursts of energy. As for him appearing doped out at meetings - they would have bored him as he was a doer not a thinker - Peter Pan, not Captain Hook (This is why entertainers have managers). He wasn't so much a hypochondriac complaining about problems that didn't exist as excruciatingly aware of minor wear and tear damage, others would barely have noticed. Yoga would probably have done him more good than the pain killers and anti-depression tablets he took but we can't put back the clock.
