Re: why are you here?

My real answer is both 1 and 2, I guess. And also to just hang out...

yea, I assumed many probably have that same answer, that's why I put "primary reason" for the question text.

Re: why are you here?

I chose #1 because accepting one's own ignorance is the first step to acquiring knowledge. If I could have choosen more than two, I would have also checked #5. The other reason: By investigating other points of view and disecting the total mass of information, whether good or bad, I intend to compare it with not only my own current understanding but also with my logical instinct. Hopefully, I will discover information buried within these sacred halls of wisdom that will lead me to a greater truth.............Infy

Re: why are you here?

I'm trying to find an intellectual community where I fit in, where I can freely search for truth, where I can contribute, and where I am appreciated for what I contribute. So far, so good.

Arrow Re: why are you here?

___I went with other. I found Hypography while making a deliberate search for a science forum to join. I looked at quite a few, but this place seemed to have a nice mix of sharp minds & equally sharp wits.
___Having newly discovered what a 'forum' online is - they thought Gutenberg(sp) created a revolution! - I knew I must join one. This brings us to the why.
__The foremost reason: to exposit my math research for cogent peer review.
__Everything else is gravy. The gravy is an emergent property; entirely synergetic. It's a little lumpy, but it has good flavor, e.g. make satisfying acquaintences, enjoy the science articles, meet with astounding insights of others, good humor, & more or less find surprise in the generosity & trust of strangers, i.e. 'just hangin out'.
Q:Where's Waldo now?
A: Where he always is of course; hidden in plane view.

I chose #1, because I think this is the easiest way to get the latest science news. I don't do as much yakking as I used to, but its still a fun way to fill spare moments ...
