Re: Do You Commute??

I try to ride my bike, or walk everywhere.

I COULD ride my bike up highway 9 (pretty much my favorite place to go and explore),
but it's uphill and 30 miles long.

Some crazy humans do it,
I prefer to drive that road, though..

I usually read e-books on my Palm handheld.

But on the few occasions when I have to drive, it takes forever to get to work through endless rush traffic...the train takes 20 minutes and takes me almost next door to my job.

Only problem is the ticket prices, they're really steep here in Oslo. But the cost of driving is too high, and frankly I have no reason to. I'd rather stay pollution-free and use public transport since it's available.

Re: Do You Commute??

I live about 30km from work, and it takes me anything from 20 minutes to an hour and a half to travel that distance, depending on the traffic. It usually takes an hour, and I travel by car because public transportation is not an option here in South Africa.

When I was in Wien (Vienna) and staying with my buddy, You could Go Anywhere - Quick and Cheap!
If you are a student, the prices are really low!

I was immensely impressed by their public transportation system.

The roads are narrow, and they Tax you on the size of motor of your car! plus gas prices are crazy high!

And we moan here in the U.S.? wait till gas reaches $4 a gallon.

I have a Toyota V6 Truck. It's mileage is so-so.
I would rather ride a bike because I can't stand traffic ; People are just Nuts and in such a Damned Hurry!
It doesn't make sense. More Stress I don't need.

If I had to commute further distances, It'd be different. Most everything I need is within a 5-6 mile radius.
It rains so much here though, that I have to drive sometimes, and I can't always take the bus.

I voted sometimes/many times& I am conscience.
