Here is an interesting study: From the Swedish.
We know how Norwegians and Swedish love each other

Commuters who board a train 20 miles outside their destination were were found to have twice the stress levels than those traveling 40+ miles!

Apparently the more control the commuter has over his surroundings (such as being able to get a seat), the less stressful the journey.

This study suggests that commuters may be better off trading a short, stressful ride for a longer but calmer one!

I got this from "The Wellness Encyclopedia" published by Cal State Berkeley.

Any truth to that do you think Tormod?

Re: Do You Commute??

I try to bike to school every day. If I can't or need to take my guitar in or other bing things that you can't carrry on a bike I get driven. But if I can't bike I take the subway. They just raised the fares here in Toronto so that's annoying...

A guitar to much to carry on a bike????????????????????

Untill I got my DL at the tender age of 21 I carried my bass *(upright acoustic) to and from rehearsals on the back of mine. Also on other occasions my Stratocaster and, Fender bassman 410 combo amp and pedal box (fender tube amp 4 -10" speaker cabinet combo) to gigs (often a 30+ mile round trip.) On yet other occasions 4 cases beer at once the trick is to buy or (as in my case make) one hell of a sturdy rear rack and obtain lots of bungies. In short it can be done and oh yeah tarps are your best friends in foul weather!!!
