I'm allergic to animals so no pets...I voted "no" and "fish" because we have a small aquarium but it's about to be thrown out since I can't be bothered to take care of it as much as is necessary.

Charlie the Dog. A black lab/border collie mix. 85 lbs. We got him to keep critters out of the yard when we lived at the edge of open space in Colorado. And he did a damn good job of it. Now aside from being a member of the pack, he is helping the kids to learn about the duty of caring for others.

Why do I have a pet? Well, actually I had no say in the matter. When I moved into my current place almost two years ago, the local stray cat decided to move in along with me.
Someone has commented that he is actually not my cat, but in fact I'm his human. He completely runs the show around here, and even gets to pick on which side of the bed he wants to sleep. But I gladly put up with all of it because he is extremely loving and he really makes me happy.
