Re: children

i personally think that as a human, as an animal on this earth, one of the biggest decisions you can possibly make is "will i or won't i?"

i also think that the best way you can really make a difference in the world is by continuing your lineage.

someday, once i've found a woman with the right mind and body, i will produce 1-3 of my own.

Re: children

I have four son's. Ages 17, 15, 9 and 3. My wife and I cannot have any more kids. I guess we could adopt more at some point though. Raising kids is the highest responsibility in life. And in my opinion it brings the greatest joys.

Choosing not to have children is arguably a sad end to 3,700,000,000 years of struggle and efforts by your ancestors to survive.

Choosing to have more than the replacement level two children arguably adds to the challenge for your children to survive and propser by adding to the strain on planetary resources.

What about overpopulation?

Seriously. Sometimes I wish more people would decide to not have children. Or that at least, some of these sixteen year old kids would learn to keep their legs shut.

I used to wonder if homosexuality was natures way of trying to keep the rate of pop' increase to a minimum.

i both see your point and disagree. my reasoning: what if you aren't happy with the people birthing too often? i would rather keep my own bloodline strong than theirs, especially with confidence in the fact that i will make a loving and honest parent.
