In a novel situation an organism has to choose what to do. Here, we can typically speak of the possible options as the four F’s; flight, fight, feed or mate.

Re: 3D morphable model face animation

If you want to do that yourself, there is software called Poser, that allows one to morph and animate human or animal chararcters. It cosst about $150. It is cheaper with a student ID.

I used to play with an earlier version. The software also allows you to add and edit skins so the Poser characters can take on some unusual appearances. Really cool but takes time to master.

Re: 3D morphable model face animation

Poser was, if i am not mistaken, used to create and animate characters for shrek, well they also hired a team of programmers for mods and special addons to do that, and they ran a linux cluster of about 1500 boxes to compute the scripted animations...

I use Maya for my 3D animation. The only reason I have access to the program (which is somewhere around $5000 retail) is through my Television Production class. It is so incredibly powerful. I'll post some of my stuff later. . . Maya was used in King Kong, War of the Worlds, Star Wars, and many other famous movies and video games.

Eeh, they used Film Gimp (CinePaint) to draw in every single arrow in the "Last Samurai", there was not one arrow used in the filming of the movie
