Anyone else getting insane amounts of spam lately? I'd understand it if it were a lot of Christmas gifts hawking but I get all kids of junk e-mail (often in unreadable languages) and, erm, a lot of information as to how to enhance certain body parts.

Yesteday I received...1,269 unwanted e-mails!!!

Well I noticed I've been getting many many many spams in my gmail account, but not as many as 1,269.

I don't get much spam to gmail...maybe 2-3 per week. But I don't use that address publicly, maybe that's the difference. The spam I talk about are coming to the hypography.com accounts.

If you allow an e mail address to be read by an arbitrary internet user it'll be trawled. The spam you're getting Tormod will get worse, not better i think.

thats exactly what you want to do tormod, or you could keep one adress private and one public...

That's what I do, I've got three e-mail accounts, all three free, two of them are 'fake', as in, I check them rarely and only use them online, and one is 'real', I check it every day, and only tell my friends about it.

My main 'fake' one has 2,448 e-mails in the bulk folder.
