What do you think is the best technological advance of 2004.
This is not as full as i would have liked it to be, but there's a limit of 10 questions a poll, so i had to choose some of the better examples of technology from the source, the source is:
http://www.trnmag.com/Stories/2004/122904/TRN%27s_Top_Picks_122904.html
----------------
Microsoft, the leader in using innovative tactics to promote irksome experience, coupled with antiquated technology that's held together by a pyramid of makeshift afterthoughts.
Apple, the leader in using irksome tactics to promote innovative experience, coupled with an antiquated core that's enhanced by state-of-the-art afterthoughts.
Linux, the leader in not using any tactics to promote user-defined experience, coupled with state-of-the-art core enhanced by innovative afterthoughts.

This is a tough one...so many choices. I ended up voting for the solar panel thing. I think the ability to convert sun energy at a higher rate will be very important for future energy needs.

Best of the year?
Anything that involves cryptography has got to be at the top of the list. Old habits die hard, I guess.

I will not vote, i think that all of them were very important in their own, special way, many smarter-than-me people worked on them for a long time trying to sucess in their area of expertise, they should all deserve recognition...!

Re: What do you think is the best technological advance of 2004.
Well glad to see the site's members are so consistant! 5 votes, all different! I LOVE IT! :-)
Yes it was hard and my vote is close to a coin flip (if I had a 10 sided coin!)
But my current intellectual facination is with QM and particles. Thus the 5 entangled photons. As far as far reaching understandings, dealing with particles at this level will ultimately give us more insight and capabilities than even nano-tech.
Can I vote again tomorrow? I might change my mind by then!

Thanks for helping to get god pounded into my head
Another succesful faith based initiative. Just like 9/11

Very true, alex. And what better way to recognize them than to put them on a TOP10 list here at Hypography, the premier science site the Net has to offer...
Which makes me wonder why Tormod isn't on that list somewhere. He should somehow be recognized for bringing this charming little web experiment along so nicely. Or will that only happen when he sells it to Bill Gates (because YOU, alex, spread such viscious 'lies' about Gates' beloved MSN), and all of the Admins and Mods become multi-billionaires? Come on, alex, MORE Linux propaganda please!!!!

That's easy - I wasn't invented in 2004.

No, you weren't. But the NAI Hypography was... And so it should be there as well! I mean, it's not every day that a science site can do the things that this one does...
