Woo Hooo, AMD has started a release of a very detailed GPU documentation release for the ATI cards to the Open-Source community (namely developers of the RadeonHD drivers; open-source ATI driver)
It was first supposed to be a release to the X Developer community, but has since been posted on x.org and thus been open to the open-source community in general.
Since hypo does not allow for uploads of more then 4.77 meg pdfs and each file is 450+ pages long, i am hosting those on my server and will just link you guys to them.
