Finding Clay

I get kick out of cartography applications; I wrote a pretty crude one a while back and it was one of the most entertaining projects I've been a part of... Anyway, I noticed that Clay has included geocoords in his Location info, so I did a quick check for a site that would find him for me and I found the National Map over at the US Geological Survey. It's not something that I'd use for directions to the market, but it serves it's purpose well.

Does the EU have something like this for the continent, or would I have to look to individual European governments for something like this?

Re: Finding Clay

Not a problem - if Europeans can't afford to buy GIS data for Europe, they can always download it free from the Americans: http://earth-info.nga.mil/gns/html/index.html

Happy to help by inspecting your back yard for you, I suppose...

Re: Finding Clay

Actually, if I buy a GPS device I can get maps for cheap. It's the governments and big companies that have to pay. I don't quite understand the reasoning behind it.

Have you visited Terraserver recently? You will find the info for many international cities there.

Re: Finding Clay

Well, like nemo said...it seems to take Americans to provide this service as of now.
