Re: Guitar Rig

GOT to love that vintage tone. MMMMMmMMMMM!!!
my marshall mode 4 has 2 seperate preamp tubes(i don't know if they're any good or not), but all the rest is solid state. i don't know why they decided to do that, but they did, and it sounds pretty good. i love the clean/crunch amp. but the overdrive amp just pisses me off, i can't stand heavy distortion tone. it's so alchoholic and manly(yes i am a guy, but you get what i mean, eh?) i just overdrive the crunch.

Re: Guitar Rig

Ya they are pushing "tube sound" while using transistors. Just not the same thing. Driving a tube output stage hard has no transistor equivilent. OK maybe MOSFETS to some extent. And the lack of noise floor!

Re: Guitar Rig

yes! i bought this mode 4 when they first came out. i have progressed a lot since then, and have an ear for tone now. although this is a great amp, it's notttt quite good enough. i'm going to sell it, save up some money, and get an orange half-stack. not quite sure what model yet, but AHHH i love their clean/crunch tones. major tubeness going on there.
