So what knowledge does it take, specifically? I only know webpages and scripting stuff. Still learning C++ and Java. I assume you guys need to know linux, perl, and networking mostly, correct?

XML not so much, but having it under your belt can come in handy. You will need to know HT, JS, and CS to edit templates, or to write your own page content. And since the whole system is run using PHP/MySQL, they are a must.
