Random BSOD on exit sounds like a driver problem. I had the same a while back and never really solved it until I replaced my graphics card so it can be a hardware problem. Or it could be a problem with conflicting drivers etc. ---------------- Your Friendly Neighborhood AdministratorWant to sponsor Hypography? | Resident Atheist | Re: Dead blue screen If your using Win 98, it's Win 98. We were working on a computer yesterday with it and it would not shut down and power off cleanly. We reminisced about the bad ole days of 98. ---------------- Thanks for helping to get god pounded into my head ![]() Another succesful faith based initiative. Just like 9/11 | |

| Explaining | Re: Dead blue screen Well I'm not sure what graphic card I'm using... how can I know? And I'm on Win98, and I will write down the error number the next time the blue screen appears. As to what brand is my PC, I'm not sure either, because it's assembled with different parts, and it's not HP, Dell and so on... | |

| Understanding | Re: Dead blue screen There's a couple of tools you can use to check your system out. Everest home www.lavalys.com and sisfot sandra lite www.sisoftware.net are the most thourough that i know of i would say. But there's also fresh diagnose that's freeware if you want to try it out -> www.freshdevices.com The best place i reckon for windows errors is microsoft's knowledgebase itself. Go to microsoft.com, look for the knowledge base (MSKB), type in the error message that you see and hopefully it will come up with some options of what it could be. | |

| Resident USSRian | Re: Dead blue screen Upgrade to Win. 2000 Pro if you want to continue to use windows, 98 is too easy to get into if you use the internet, better yet get Linux, but the choice all depends on you, but you pretty much need to the point of have to upgrade... ---------------- And remember that great question that Pierre-Simon Laplace and Sir Isaac Newton, Andrei Markov and David Hilbert, Richard Feynman and Enrico Fermi, Albert Einstein and Edmund Halley did not come to ask throughout all of their dedication and work: "Who the hell is IMing me?"
