Hi folks, I am pretty ignorant of high tech things, but strongly believe our chances of saving the world are far better with high tech, than without it.

I am attempting to organize a peace tour through the bible belt, changing the consciousness of those in the bible belt, and hopefully stopping Bush from bombing Iran. We must act real fast to acheive this goal before it is too late, and we need all the help we can pull together. I want to know all the computer technology I might use to record the tour and communicate with media. I am hoping our local newspaper, which is still locally owned and controlled, and a local TV news station will connect with the Eugene Peace Tour and keep readers and viewers up to date, and engaged.

Mostly I want to give people in the towns we go through computer access so they can check out important web sites for themselves. I want to use technology as it has never before been used, to change mass consciousness before Bush bombs Iran.

I am praying for miracles to pull this off. Personally, I live on less than $1000 a month, and could not possibly pay for what needs to be done, but I also live where Monaco Coaches are made and God willing we will be allowed to use a high tech bus for this tour, so imagine a solar powered high tech bus, computers, and whatever else might create a miracle in consciousness change about technology and world peace. A change in the consciousness of the bible belt and prehaps the world.

I will start another thread for the humanitarian concept of the Eugene Peace Tour, under Social Sciences. This thread is my high tech dream list and how to. I hope you have some good ideas.

2) Why does the Pope require worldly security? Where is his FAITH!

Faith is destroyed if it works. If you have faith you can only be denied. Test of faith! That is why the Pope needs worldly security.
4) Hindus have 36 crores of gods - 360 million deities. How is India doing? Has anybody looked around, taken the hint, and done something constructively secular - like flush toilets? Colorado has more flush toilets than the whole of India. There are no WC waiting lines in India

Middle East adventurism moved more than $3 trillion into Bush the Lesser's associates' pockets. Bush the Lesser has killed 4000+ of his own troops and maimed at least 60,000 more doing it. Does he look unhappy?

I am praying for miracles to pull this off.

Thanks. I hate to appear stupid, but does a laptop with a satelite link mean a phone line is not necessary? Also glad you mentioned a digital movie camera. My old camera wouldn't do.

UncleAl, surely my faith is being tested. I really expected a greater response than I have gotten. I put a message on Craigslist and have gotten nothing. I suppose I will get no response to my letter to the editor, if it is even printed. I also contact people listed on a Peace site. Oh, well, I can take comfort in knowing I put the idea out there. There isn't much more I can do without help. I am so disappointed. Maybe people just don't believe Bush will bomb Iran. I pray he doesn't.

As for the attitude about faith, how about trusting God will take care of Iraq and Iran and Jesus told his followers not to draw their swords, but to allow God's will be done. How we interpret the bible, depends a whole lot on our spirit when attempt to understand it. "Put a little love in your heart".

Yes, a satelite set up means you do not need a telephone line. Also, an easier method would be to use a cell phone teathered to your laptop. As long as you can get cell phone service you will have internet connnection.

or an air card that already acts as a modem (they are not that expensive, generally have better antenna and hardware for better signal and connectivity, in fact sprint ones have external antenna port, for which you can get like an RV antenna which will give you vastly greater coverage)

Thanks John and Alexander. Alexander by spirnt did you mean the company Sprint the cell phone company. Sorry, I love technology, but I am poor and don't go looking for stuff I can not afford. Man, I wish I could afford the bus and technology and then could do my own thing without help. I would use a Monaco bus with solar power.

I figure if we had the communication system of the military, that bus would make news just for the technology on board.

UncleAl, I watched two environmental shows last night, and I am far more concerned about the destruction to the plant that we are causing, then any foriegn enemies. One show claimed we have consumed so much fish and our polution has killed so many more, that ocean is releasing methane gas and causing global warming that is so serious, the animals of Africa and the antartic are threatened with extinction. That means our own chances of survival are getting pretty bad. The old conscious of conquest and conquer is from the dark ages, and we do need a new way of thinking. We need to pick up the awareness of the civilizations we destroyed, and start working to save this planet. It would be nice if the peace bus had the ability to play a video about how we must live simply if we are going to save our planet the real enemy- ourselves. We need to redirect our attention to what we are doing to this planet and how we must do things differently so our young can enjoy we took for granted.

Our technology, means we can be the best informed people in history, and we need to act on that possibility. We need to enlighten the masses with truth, knowledge of how we are destroying our planet and how we can turn it into an Eden. We need to end the darkness.

Yes, i do mean Sprint. Satellite is more reliable, as you can get it anywhere, but it is very, very expensive, both hardware and internet usage-wise.
