Re: How to Delete files?

Windoze? Try ccleaner to free some space. To delete files just right-click and delete. Then empty your recycle bin.

Re: How to Delete files?

Emptying your Recycle Bin after 'soft deleting' something is how you free up disk space, but if you want it off your hard disk you have to get something like CWshredder that wipes it fully.

how to delete files from harddrive permanently
You can use a really lage and powerful magnet, a drillpress, a screwdriver with a pc power supply or a real large firecracker or a real explosive ofcourse there are other creative ways of getting rid of information...

there are a few programs that do stuff like that for you, such as system mechanic. if you just want to delete some (very safe) files go "My Computer", right click on your disk ( C: ) choose "Properties", then in the window that comes up choose "Disk Cleanup", wait, wait for a little more, then a menu comes up with files that it found for cleanup, do delete your temp internet files and all that as well

Now i will see where it puts compressed files and get back to you on how to go about deleting them

Re: How to Delete files?

thanks guys, specially clay.

since my PC is very slow, the Ccleaner program helped. It is somewhat faster than disk cleanup.

oh, and for compressed old files.. is it talking about the old programs which i havent used? or some random files which i do not even know of?

Re: How to Delete files?

norton system works is good for that kinda thing and also you can get a usb memory stick or cds for under £5 $10 and just store your passive files on there eg.wird docs spread sheets, music and the likes, however that wouldnt work for active components eg games.
