You are welcome freeztar!

Let me search my hard disc (head) to see if I can share more islands, of course, obscure ones, with you...

My pleasure. For our next obscure island, we have one that until recently remained conspicuous by its absence.

Flying over the South Pacific on GoogleEarth Air and looking for underwater volcanoes, I zoomed in on a suspect obscure outcrop and found me a real turtle treasure island. ...............

Welcome to Suwarrow.

Some years later, New Zealander Henry Mair found pieces of eight in a turtle nest. Mair became involved in a row, the find was covered up and it has never been rediscovered. ...

Nice one Turtle! That got me researching and I found this lovely page.
Aerial pictures of the Cook Islands

Take a look at the odd "rectangular" shape of Rakahanga and the LOVELY blue waters of Aitutaki.

I SOOOOO want to visit a Pacific atoll.

Islands are such romantic places
An escape from the read world
i met a solicitor/lawer friend one day who seemed very depressed.
I asked him 'Why?'
He said he had just won a $500,000 case for his client
said "Well that is great? Why are you so miserable?"
He said his client had just purchased a beach side home in Fiji and on his Australian Aged Pension was able to hire a cook, cleaner and gardener.

Re: Obscure Islands

There's a great little website Oceandots.com I use on occasion. My one complaint is that it has no overview map to show where the islands are but many do have direct links to Google Earth, Google Maps, Live Local, and Yahoo Maps. Others do not but a Wikipedia search will quickly take care of that.
