Here are two companies that sell such microbes. ALl they list on their sites are bulk orders, but perhaps contacting them about the nature of your study, they may sell a small ammount.

Perhaps if a couple of vats were dumped in the Middle East, people might stop dying so frequently.

Well I guess that would be true *eventually*. In the short term of course you'd probably see a couple billion people disappear rather quickly with the Armageddon-like wars that would break out over the remaining--and wholly inadequate to support the existing world economy--reserves of oil elsewhere.

Interestingly, Paul Stamets has demonstrated that fungi are much more effective at the task than bacteria. I'm sure he would sell you a small quantity of Oyster mushrooms.
