We should let the tigers
eat more than half
of the humans that are alive. |

I hate our overpopulated mess.
I love being able
to be alone
and naked in the forest.
Much like a tiger,
they deserve
what I deserve
and we're both stripped
so we're evolving
BUT WE KNOW
THIS ISN'T WHAT
WE WANT TO DO |

Information (bias against owning exotics) http://www.taosanctuaries.org/wildlife/links.htm
I think its important to read the negatives more than the positives when considering having an exotic. I would love to own many of these types of animals but will not due to the responsiblity I would have for their care.

It will be cheaper and more profitable to poach the cats than to raise them for the product. The goal should be to zero out the call for these products. Tiger, tiger, burning bright
In the forests of the night,
What immortal hand or eye
Could frame thy fearful symmetry?
In what distant deeps or skies
Burnt the fire of thine eyes?
On what wings dare he aspire?
What the hand dare seize the fire?
And what shoulder and what art
Could twist the sinews of thy heart?
And when thy heart began to beat,
What dread hand and what dread feet?
What the hammer? what the chain?
In what furnace was thy brain?
What the anvil? What dread grasp
Dare its deadly terrors clasp?
When the stars threw down their spears,
And water'd heaven with their tears,
Did He smile His work to see?
Did He who made the lamb make thee?
Tiger, tiger, burning bright
In the forests of the night,
What immortal hand or eye
Dare frame thy fearful symmetry? William Blake 1757–1827 |

| | Doing the Impossible | | | | | Re: Tigers Truth is stranger than fiction. Here is a story from Jackson Township, NJ. I lived and/or worked in Jackson for 10 years. There was a lady who owned over 20 tigers. I am not sure anyone knows the precise count. One got loose one day. Local officials thought it was from the Amusement Park Safari, famous for having exotic animals. It was from the Tiger Lady's house. Even the local police and her direct neighbors were unaware that they were living next to tigers. The only person I am aware of who knew was the man who ran the safari for the park. He helped her somehow. It was not clear exactly how. I never new this was there until I read about it after I had moved to Colorado. You need to be careful with tigers.
