I...

So there is a trial coming up for this guy Khalid Shaikh Mohammed , and seven others right?

I looked up some stuff and wikipedia says we convicted him of terrorist acts (it does not say 9/11). I looked up on other sites and one site (nytimes: http://www.nytimes.com/2009/11/15/us/15ksm.html) says that he was captured in 2003, and was held in a bunch of secret CIA prisons as well as an American military prison in cuba.
So... a five year gap between capture and convicted, and then another year until a trial.
Where has he been for all these years? All the news says is a bunch of secret CIA prisons in Europe.
Why do we have secret prisons in Europe? Why did it take so long to convict him? Why does everybody still say he "allegedly" did this stuff? Did he or didn't he? He has been in our custody for six or seven years, we should know by now. When he was arrested they did find a hard drive with some pretty condemning evidence (see wikipedia article), but why did it take so long to convict him then?
Any another thing, his confessions seem a little widespread. Plans to bomb Big Ben, and assassinate not only Bill Clinton, but Pope John Paul II and Pervez Musharraf. As well as a confession of the Bali nightclub bombings.

I have a few theories.
1. It is some sort of distraction. The government is trying to take our eyes off of something else by doing this trial. They know that the media will pretty much keep their eyes on this happening for a good two weeks or so, enough time for something big to happen...

2. The government knows a lot more than they are telling us, and they probably have been torturing this guy for information for five years. In his most recent picture, doesn't he seem a little different? Its obvious that prison has a negative effect on a persons overall health and appearance, but to me he looks a little brain damaged, like he is not all there. I don't think that was an early morning picture they took of him.

Anyone have anything to say?
EDIT: I think I know why he seems a little brain damaged, and It has nothing to do with government conspiracies and illegal test subjects for experimental brain stuff :-)
Apparently the CIA water boarded him for 2 and a half minutes, before he started to talk. Who here can hold their breath for two minutes?

Legal supply and demand

If we made a new law, such as nobody can wear the color black on odd days of the month, we could...

If we made a new law, such as nobody can wear the color black on odd days of the month, we could create a new criminal class, where one did not exist before. There is nothing morally or ethically wrong with wearing black on odd days, but still they would be criminals. Most people would just go along with the program to avoid fines, possible jail time or being called a criminal. Others would not see any logical reason for this law and wear black out of protest. But doing that will eventually require legal assistance for protection.

From an economic point of view, that law, although silly, would increase the demand for lawyers. In the short terms with supply fixed, cost of lawyers would go up due to the higher demand. But in the longer term, the free market would adjust and increase the supply of lawyers. That silly law would create jobs.

Let us do this the other way, say you were a lawyer lobby group wishing to increase the demand for goods and services for you and other lawyers. Based on the above, you would lobby whoever will increase the number of laws. Or if you were a politician and needed to give a kick back to the lawyer lobby for their campaign support, how could you do this and make it look legitimate? Make more laws.

The author of the article was comparing Obamas promise of kicking the habit to his promises to the country. Is it just me, or is smoking irrelevent to health care reform. Please read the artcle and let me know how you feel. I read the LA Times article.

The fastest plan to advance humanity ever.

Presuming that is that we ARE looking for every advance.

Presuming that is that we ARE looking for every advance.

I think we would actually end up saving the planet simply by shutting down television completely and challenging everyone to change the hands they right with. Its simple I know and its going to have to be.

Heres the two theories. Theory one is that the television encourages flat line consciousness in the sense that not much realisation occurs and the levels of sensibility and thinking doesnt expand. As well as that people are judging the speed of change in the level of thinking in the real world based on what they experience on the television which as everyone knows is substantially a non reality and we have to solve the detatchment.

Second theory on handwriting is that by swapping hands it will engage new elements of the mind and that this will raise the senses and humanity will be on the ascendancy together with that which will cause a compound consciousness expansion as the new potentialities come to realisational occurrance. Question is if we had to do those two things to survive and save the planet would we have that level of will to believe and hope.
