Thoughtful Prose.......
Suspicion..
Whilst bathing in the warmth of summer night walking,
I heard a voice distant cry.
"Who are you, and why are you here?"
My answer:
"Your concern is duly noted sir, but I suggest your query should more truly be": Why can't I see you?
To which I added this remark..... "But sir, it is also dark".
For darkness is neither good nor evil, only the suspicious minds of men.

Re: Thoughtful Prose.......
The eternal road:
Yesterday, today, and tomarrow,
can we really divide the time?
The past is what I remember,
but has it truly died?
For without the past unfolding,
the present could not remain.
With the present also reaching,
the future becomes the day.
As we reason in the present,
can we judge the future free?
Or is this passage we call time,
an allusion that divides the three.
The past, the present, and the future,
are just names we give our passage.
A long road through eternities plan,
with our minds focused on the now.
Because the road behind us in memory,
does not desolve before our eyes.
And the road before us is established,
Written in script like a Broadway play.
Past, Present, and Future; The eternal road.

Waiting:
Youth waits in frustration,
time creeping like a snail.
School day's dulldrums,
then the freedom of graduation.
Childhood passes into adulthood,
grand plans for young adults.
Work, sweat, and save,
plan, spend, and build.
Now that many years have passed, I look back.
Looking back in memory,
to warm summer nights,
and easy Sunday mornings.
The years overtake ambition.
Again I find myself waiting,
time moving swiftly now.
Waiting for the answer,
how will it all end?
Waiting................waiting

Re: Thoughtful Prose.......
Picture Puzzle:
Like a childs picture puzzle,
great men add their pieces.
To a picture vaguely painted,
a portrait, information missing.
Many of the pieces easily fit,
falling as it were together.
While others being forced
produce a picture grotesque.
As the last pieces are placed,
to complete our mosaic view.
Will man recognize the image,
or again, scramble the puzzle?
Beginning a new human epoch.

Swing:
Seated in comfort,
on front porch swing.
Smell of purple lilac
in warm summer air.
Content with simple things,
I wonder why some struggle?
Running against the wind,
while the swing waits empty.

Re: Thoughtful Prose.......
Ambitious dreams:
We've all heard the familiar saying,
"be careful what you wish for,
because you may just get it".
So I ask those reading, the following:
For what you,ve been wishing,
consider the value my friend.
Will the thrill last the morrow,
or will it suddenly end.
Only those things which endure,
that last through thick and thin.
When all else has failed you,
will hopes and wishes sustain?
Looking back we find examples,
of many great and mighty men,
having attained long sought dreams,
to only despise their end.
