Re: Hypographers Who Meet
Okay. [gulp] It's noon in Houston.
I have to leave the office in about 1 hour.
At 5:30, our plane (SouthWest, flight 39) takes off for BWI
halfway tween Baltimore and DC.
CraigD, I will call and let you know the restaurant and its
address sometime Wednesday afternoon. Before 3 PM.
Get yer red dress on, mama!

Re: Hypographers Who Meet
WE DID IT!
Gwen and I flew to the Boston/DC area, and met Craig Duncan ( CraigD) at his favorite pizza parlor near the campus of the University of Maryland. We had a great time!
Pictures to follow!
Irony: I knew that CraigD and I had a lot in common; we're both programmers. What came out at dinner was that CraigD and my wife have a lot in common; they are both past members in the Society for Creative Anachronism! Small world.
Thanks for a super-great evening, Craig. You are a fantastic person and it was an honor to meet you.

Hmmm. A lot has changed since I've been at college. I completely forgot that they officially incorporated the eastern seaboard into one giant metropolitan region.

The feeling’s are mutual, Nelson. It’s uncanny how similar the experiences of a couple of folk who’ve been programming for three-ish decades are – though I’m envious of you rocket science work, vs. the present mind-numbing business enhancement project to which I’m presently dedicated. The SCA connection is startling, too.

LOL, all.
It’s the Baltimore-Washington greater metro area, of course, and a rather farmish area it still is, between the two cities. The Boston-Washington macro-urb remains at present in the scifi realm, though the rail service between the two, at lease, is good.

Re: Hypographers Who Meet
I always love it when Hypographers meet!
It is good to hear that you both (all three) enjoyed it (as if there was really any other outcome possible).
Of course, considering the theme of the site, I am curious....What kind of beer did you have with your pizza?

I’m shamed to admit, I had a Diet Coke, while Pyro and Gwen, if I recall correctly, had hot tea.
In our defense, we did exchange many excellent tales of being fabulously sloshed.

Re: Accidental tea-totaling
Well, I finally overcame my laziness and uploaded all the pictures from our trip. Here is the picture (soon to become famous all over the world) of me, Gwen, and our very own CraigD, taken in the lobby of our hotel, in College Park, MD. Ta daaa!!!

Re: Accidental tea-totaling
I thought I would also show you some closeup pictures taken of the three of us.
They are Gwen, CraigD and my own humble self, in that order.
The fourth one is just a cherry tree outside the Smithsonian, in DC, where Gwen spent the day while I was attending the software conference at Goddard.
